Autumn Favourites Tag

Hi, it's Meg

A few days ago I was tagged to do the Fall Favourites Tag by Lexi from Lexi The Newt and Lily Lea from Meet Me in Melford. It's Autumn and I've been wanting to this for ages so I thought there's no better time than now to do it! I love Autumn and it's my favourite time of the year! Let's get on with it!
Disclaimer:This tag is called Fall Favourites but I prefer calling it Autumn which is why it's Autumn in the title and Fall everywhere else.

Favourite Candle?
To be honest, I don't really burn candles but I love any scent which is crisp, dark, warm and autumnal. I've been liking candles from the Christmas part in Boots. I'm not sure what they're called but they sound like a wood fire! I don't really like any fruity scents because they're too sweet.

Favourite Lip Product?
Velvet Teddy by MAC is a new favourite of mine and is a lovely crisp and matte autumnal lip with brown undertones. It's beautiful and my favourite lip product.

Favourite Nail Polish?
Models Own-Rhubarb & Custard. A deep glittery red.

Favourite Trendy Clothing Item?
Either my black a line skirt from New Look or my jacket from F&F.

Favourite Comfy Clothing Item?
Probably my gilet because it's fluffy inside! It's faux fur obvs!

Favourite Accessory?
Probably my pearl earrings that I wear all the time. They just go with everything and are very beautiful!

Halloween or Thanksgiving?
I'm from the UK so I don't celebrate Thanksgiving so definitely Halloween. To be honest, I don't really do much for Halloween either but I do love all the fun that goes with it.

Favourite Drink?
Probably a cappuccino. It needs to be steaming hot and no chocolate sprinkled on the top!

What's The Happiest Part About Fall For You?
The happiest part of Fall for me is the rain and getting into stay in at night and watching festive films with my family! I also love the autumnal trees.

Recent Purchases & Honest Reviews

Hi, it's Meg.

Today I'm going to show you some of my recent purchases and what I think of them. A few days ago I had a massive splurge on make up and I know that hurt me and my bank account but I haven't splurged in a while so I guess it's okay?!

So the products I bought are: MUA Pro Base Prime & Conceal, PS... Amplif-eyed mascara, Essence Stay Natural Concealer, Velvet Teddy by MAC, PS... Eyeshadow Palette, Chai Tea Latte Baby Lips, High Lights by technic and MUA Transparent Powder.

I'm loving the MUA Pro Base Prime & Conceal palette! It is £4 from Superdrug and comes with 3 dfferent colours to conceal different areas as well as a 2 normal concealers. Before, a few weeks ago I'd never used a concealer so I'm just opening my eyes to them all but I'd recommend this if you have dark circles, redness, yellow undertones etc.

I also bought a Primark mascara after being totally swayed to it as of the lovely rose gold packaging and amazing name aha. It is called Amplif-eyed and it has claims to define, add volume and to lift lashes. It 100% does and it was £2!! I love the length of it and it definitely defines my lashes but I wish it thickened them too! If you prefer long lashes and want a mascara that does that pick this up. It was only £2 too so you can't go wrong.

High Beam by technic is a product I'm having a love-hate relationship with. It's quite gloopy and hard to blend but at the same time a pretty shine. It was £2.99 but I'm not sure if I like it enough to recommend yet!?

Another recent purchase is my Baby Lips in Chai Tea Latte. This was £2.99 in Superdrug yet £4.99 in Boots which was odd!? Anyway, this is part of the Holiday Spice collection collection and is very, very autumnal. It's a deep red and for a Baby Lips very pigmented and still moisturising. It's my favourite and easy lip balm and I just love it!!

Two other products I bought are the Stay Natural Concealer from Essence and Translucent Setting Powder from MUA. I love this concealer because it's great for my dark circles and over my spots. It also stays all day and looks so natural. Again, this is £2 and I love how compact it is! Secondly, the MUA  powder is in Translucent and just sets my concealer all day. It's £1 and does what it says!

Swatches of the PS... Palette from the top left to top right, middle left to middle right and bottom left to bottom right going down my arm.

2 very different products I bought are the PS... palette and my MAC lipstick in Velvet Teddy. I bought Velvet Teddy after seeing it everywhere. I'm not going to go into Velvet Teddy because I'm sure you all know what it's like - brown undertones and lovely autumnal shade on the lips.
I bought Primark's palette for £2.50 after seeing the lovely shades in it. I particularly love the bottom left cranberry shade as it screams autumn to me. All the shades are shimmery and not that pigmented but I still find it easy to create a nice look. For £2.50 it's worth it.

Swatch of Velvet Teddy;

I hope you've enjoyed seeing my reviews on these make up products. These are only my opinions and for some products I don't like you may love!

Have a great day!

3 Easy Halloween Make-Up Looks & Thank you for 50 Followers!|Collab

Hi, it's Meg.

How are you? Today I'm showing you 3 very easy Halloween make-up looks. As you can see by the title this is a collab with the lovely Lexi whose blog you can check out here. She's such a lovely person and her blog is absolutely stunning! She's also done an amazing look which you should definitely check out. Anyway, let's get started!

1)Halloween Mask!
I saw this mask and got inspiration to doing it from a post on Boots' Instagram page. This is what it looks like:
I started this off by doing the main outline of it. I used a thick tipped eyeliner for doing the main parts then a thinner one for the more intricate parts. This is how I started it: I did two main rings round my eye and then a sort of pentagon shape with a 'w' on top. The line from the pentagon-thing was what I did next before finishing it with a filled in diamond.
After that I then did the swirls round it. I tried to make it symmetrical but it didn't really work out. This is basically the next step.

Next, all you need to do is fill in the outline with crosses. I just did this by doing diagonal lines in every part except the pentagon at the top. It then looked like this: The next step is to fill in the top gap with a spider - I did it with the eyeliner.

Finally, I used my white eyeliner to create dots to add a bit of dimension to all the different corners and ends of each line. To finish I used the eyeliner on my lips so they became black too! This was the finished look:

2.Vampire meets Spiders?!
This next look is also quite easy, this is what it looks like:

To start it off I layered different red lipstick on my eyes and blended it out and brought it down under my eyes. I used Mystic Marsala by MUA, Old Hollywood by Sleek and a bright red from Barry M. There isn't much of an instruction to this because you can just play around with it. This is what it looked like: After this I used my thin black eyeliner to draw a line straight down from the outer v of my eye. This was to create the spider hanging off from the cobweb.I then drew the spider by drawing an oval then legs from either side. My first spider wasn't great but I tried! Here it is:

All I did after this was create another two spiders using the same method except these were just drawn underneath the original spider. This was it for the base makeup.
I then finished with my lips.I created an ombre effect by using my Baby Lips in Chai Tea Latte on the inside of my lip. I used Old Hollywood to fill the rest of my lips in before smudging them together. This created and finished this look.

3. A Classic Cat
This final look is very simple, flattering and a classic cat! It's got a lovely metallic eye and I am doing this look for Halloween, I think?!
(I'm so sorry about the awful lighting and how it makes the photos look a bit pink).

The first step that I did to create this look was defining my brows with a matte Makeup Revolution shadow. I then created the nose by using a pink lipstick on the tip of my nose before using the black eyeliner around it to create a triangle for the nose. I did try and smudge it together but the oik lipstick wasn't that pigmented so it ended becoming a pink highlight!
I then moved on to my eyes. For my eyes I used my Undress Me Too palette by MUA and I packed on the shades Dreamy and Tranquil. These are both really pigmented and bright golds. Again, sorry the photo isn't very good - I can't take photos of my eyeshadow!! I didn't apply any other shade because I just wanted the gold to be really bold. After this, I applied the black eyeliner and (tried) to create a cat eye.

My final steps were to create the whiskers and the mouth. I didn't really know how to do the whiskers but I just went classic Dan & Phil style with my black eyeliner. I also added some dots round the whiskers because I thought that cats had some?! I don't really think there's a way to do this, just go with the flow!

Then, I used the same pink lipstick and applied it normally. Finally, I drew a line from my nose and on my top lip before curling it out into two 'u's on my bottom lip to create the mouth.

That's it for this cat look. I added some cat ears and that was the finished look:

That's it for my 3 easy Halloween looks. I hope you've enjoyed this and my week of uploads. Also, thank you so much for 50 followers on Bloglovin'! It means the world to me and I can't believe it as I've been blogging for 2 months today! Thank you so, so much.

Which is your favourite look? Anyway, I'll see you again for another post next Friday!

Pumpkin Shenanigans

Hi, it's Meg.
I've been carving the pumpkin you will see soon for about 4 hours and it's definitely something interesting!

It's meant to be a cat if you can't tell! It was going so well when I was carving it until the head fell off... This did not stop us though because after trying flour and water, glue etc.. we found a toothpick and a ribbon to connect it. This has made it look slightly odd as the head is to an angle but that's okay! Then, the top of the pumpkin also became too small so with some other left over pumpkin we managed to put it back in.  After this, I realised that the tail had fallen of too so this is what happened:

I ended up drawing a tail on..

Anyway, I hope my pumpkin shenanigans have somewhat made you laugh or even inspired you to try this design on your pumpkin! I like this though because my nan and I tried so hard with it and I suppose it doesn't look too bad?!
That's it! What did you/are you doing for your pumpkin this year? I hope you enjoyed this and I'll see you again tomorrow!

The Travel Tag

Hi, it's Meg.

Today I'm going to do the Travel Tag! I saw it floating round bloglovin' and all my posts have been autumn themed recently and to be honest, i've been missing summer A LOT!! Anyway, I tag Lexi The Newt, Emsi Rose and Girl Abroad Blog to do this tag. They are 3 amazing bloggers I recommend you check out!

You are leaving tomorrow to start a life in a new country, where would you go?
I'd 100% go to Singapore because it's so clean, busy and there's so much to do there. Also, its in South East Asia and if I lived there I'd have the chance to visit other countries so close to it for example, Borneo, Indonesia etc. I also think the work ethic, heat and the Botanical Gardens are just so different to living in the UK it'd just be perfection.

You can take someone away with you for a weekend to a place where you had the best holiday ever, where would you go and who would you take to go with you?
I'd take my Nan back to Tuscany in Italy because the surroundings are lovely, the food is great and there is so much to do in Italy. Also, my Nan used to go there every year about 30/40 years ago and she had a great time so i'd like to take her back to relive the experience and for me to see Tuscany again.

You can get married wherever you want, your budget is limitless, what is your choice?
Jimbaran Beach in Bali. Food is perfect. Beach is perfect. It's all perfect. Click here to see photos of it.

During your travels, you can bring back home one animal as a pet, which one would you pick?
Out of all the animals in the world? It would definitely be a cat. I'm so boring saying this but I just love cats way too much! I have two cats already and I don't know what I'd do without them.

You can go back in time and relive one family trip, which one would it be?
I went to Singapore, Borneo and Bali a few years ago and it was just the perfect 3 weeks. I did so much travelling, met so many people, created so many memories and it was the best 3 weeks of my life. It'd just be amazing to experience that again.

What is the first thing you would pack for a one year travel around the world?
Probably the Emergency Kit my mum keeps in the bathroom cupboard! It has everything you could imagine in - plasters, sterile wipes and more! I'd take it with me and more than likely keep it in my pocket all the time!!

What would your 100th birthday destination be, and why?
In New York shopping!! I'd like to go at Christmas though, even though my birthday is in March!, to see the opera and New York in Winter seems perfect!

During your travel you learn one sport to become a pro, what would that be?
It would be tennis because I'd get to travel the world and play an amazing sport. I love tennis even though I can't play it!!

That's it! I have really enjoyed writing this post and I hope you've enjoyed reading it. Have an amazing night!

Red Toned Lips & Subtle Glow|FOTD

Hi, it's Meg.

Today I'm going to show you what I wore on my face today! I was reading through some blogs and saw one of these and felt inspired!

My skin has been quite bad recently so I used my Tea Tree &Witch Hazel Concealer on my blemishes and slightly under my eyes. I loved this concealer as it's so natural and glides on beautifully. It's quite low coverage but that's all I'm willing to wear at the moment. I then added a bit more definition to my brows using Benefit's Goof Proof Brow Pencil and finished my base with high lights by technic. This highlighter gives a subtle glow and enhances my natural features. To finish I used my Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara, applied my Baby Lips Dr. Rescue in Too Cool to prime my lips for a matte lip and then put on my Barry M lipstick in 164. This is very autumnal lip with it's red under tones - it's a recent purchase and I haven't looked back!
